Xilopack transforms a special, 3.2 mm thickness panel (up until now offered by Novolegno only as a base for fruit and vegetable packs) into a range of food containers made entirely in MDF. Xilopack solutions (flat die-cut boards that can be assembled automatically or manually) have been tested and certified according to current standards in force in the EU and in Italy, as single-use packaging suitable for contact with food. In cooperation with Molise University and the CNR (National Research Council) laboratories in Avellino, at the Institute of Food Science, Xilopack has checked and proved (Measurement A.004.2008) not only suitability for food contact, but also additional and exclusive performance features compared with other materials and packagings for food contact.
